King Jerry Lawler’s Hall of Fame Bar & Grille

If you’ve followed us – or me in particular – for a while you’ll know we’re big fans of pro wrestling (ok, maybe it’s just me!), particularly the WWE and even more particularly from the 80s and 90s period (my youth, don’tcha know!).

That’s why I’m so big on legendary commentator Jim “Good ol’ JR” Ross and his range of BBQ sauces and seasoning. For me, JR is THE voice of wrestling, so now that he’s retired from the WWE it’s nice to know he’s still doing his thing with his sauces and the odd bit of commentary around the world too.

When any top name from the Attitude Era and before does something outside of the squared circle – or indeed the pro wrestling game entirely – I want to know all about it. Recently, thanks to JR, I was made aware of Jerry “The King” Lawler’s business venture in Memphis, Tennessee. Namely his restaurant – King Jerry Lawler’s Bar & Grille!

Lawler opened the restaurant early in 2016 and it’s packed with wrestling memorabilia, sells a wide range of fantastic American cooking and features live music and other events on a regular basis. In short, it looks entirely like my kinda place!

I’ve gathered a few pictures together to try and give you a sense of Lawler’s Bar & Grille – man, I want to go!

Of course, first and foremost its a restaurant so its all about the food…and that looks good too!

Visitors to King Jerry Lawler’s Hall of Fame Bar Grille range from present and former wrestling stars, locals and visitors to Memphis who just happen to stumble across the place on Beale Street. Like this guy, who clearly had a great time AND got to meet The King himself!

Am I jealous? You bet your ass I’m jealous! This is like the Hard Rock Café for wrestling fans and yeah, I wanna go!

You know what’ missing though? If you look at the photos above…there are NO JR’s Family Bar-B-Q sauces on the tables! Come on, JR, come on, Jerry, you’re best friends and you’re missing an opportunity here! 🙂

Have you been to The King’s restaurant? Or do you know of any other wrestling-related restaurants or venues that we should talk about? Drop us a comment or hook up with me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram – I’d love to see pics or hear about them.
