WWE Summerslam is going to break new ground

I’m quite partial to a bit of professional wrestling every now and then. It can be great fun, great entertainment and is a good way to just lose yourself for a few hours, especially when the main events in the wrestling calendar roll around.

My favourites are the Royal Rumble and, of course, Wrestlemania, but this year Summerslam, taking place on Sunday August 21st at the Barclays Centre, Brooklyn, New York, has something to offer too. WWE is introducing a brand new title for the first time since I don’t know when; the WWE Universal title.

Battling it out to be the first ever Universal Champion will be former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins against newcomer, pay-per-view debutant and former NXT champion Finn Bálor.

WWE Universal Champion - Bálor v Rollins

For the ‘home crowd’ on this side of the pond you might be interested to know that Bálor is Irish…so perhaps that gives you someone to root for over Rollins!

There are other interesting matches on the card too, not least Brock Lesnar versus Randy Orton – the first time they’ve faced each other in 14 years and the first time ever (as far as I know!) in WWE.

You’ve also got the obligatory WWE World Championship match as the holder Dean Ambrose defends against the silliest name ever, Dolph Ziggler, John Cena versus AJ Styles to become THE face of WWE Smackdown and a US Championship match between holder Rusev and challenger Roman Reigns.

Sasha Banks v Charlotte

On the ladies side we have a Women’s Championship match between Sasha Banks and Charlotte. And on top of all that there is a tag team match and an Intercontinental title match too. Anyone remember when this title meant something?

For once, in my view, this is a line up that Summerslam can be proud of, unlike in recent years when it’s just been a filler PPV event.

So to celebrate such a promising WWE event I thought we’d knock the price of WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross’ famous BBQ sauces right now – by over 20%!

Now just £3.49 a bottle or, even better, £12.99 for the pack with FREE, personally signed trading card or photo!

There’s no better way to watch Summerslam than with a burger or hot dog made better by JR’s Slobberknocker sauces!
