The New England Patriots take on the New York Giants to determine the 46th Superbowl Champions in a rematch from 2008 – a game that saw Eli Manning’s Giants overcome Tom Brady’s Pats 17-14 to clinch their third Superbowl and end a perfect season for New England in devastating circumstances.
Manning and the Giants will be looking for a repeat performance but Brady and his New England team will be looking for revenge. They had gone 18 games unbeaten in the 2007/8 season and only the Superbowl stood in the way of a 19-0 perfect season. That was destroyed by a brilliant MVP performance from Manning.
This season the Pats went 15-3, while the Giants were less impressive with an 11-7 win-loss record. And on paper, taking into account the hundreds and hundreds of stats gathered during an NFL season, the Patriots should be clear and easy winners.
