Game developer Capcom have announced that they will be launching a new downloadable game, World Gone Sour, based on the Sour Patch Kids American candy. Not only that, they’ve signed up US The Office co-star Creed Bratton to narrate the game and rapper Method Man to provide the main soundtrack!

Bratton (who plays a fictional version of himself in The Office) supposedly provides a cheeky narrative, while Method Man’s song, World Gone Sour: The Lost Kids, is accompanied by a video that has to be seen to be believed. So here it is.

Sour Patch KidsThe point of the game, which will be released for Xbox Live Arcade, Playstation Network in Spring 2012 and PC slightly sooner, is to guide one of the little sour fellas around a large but realistic landscape in a platform / puzzle style in order to reach his or her goal – someone’s stomach. Incredible. Here’s Sour Patch’s marketing director Sebastian Genesio to explain…well, everything.

“Sour Patch is the #1 all sour candy brand in the U.S. but there is so much more to these iconic characters than just their sour exteriors and sweet interiors. Bringing our ‘lost kids’ to life in video game form will add a new dimension to these lovable snacks. We feel this video game will resonate strongly with our core audience of teens and young adults.”

Really? Ok, we love the candy, we really do, but we’re not quite getting that it could be a game…so what do you reckon? At $4.99 (about £3.19) will you be downloading it for your platform of choice?
