I would like to run some competitions in the months ahead and would really like you to leave your suggestions for them and also what you would like to see as prizes for the winners. If I use one of your ideas I will credit you at the time and give you some of your favourite soda or candy etc from the site for your troubles !

Please leave your suggestions by way of comments on this post.

I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with !

Cheers

Dave

  1. We all know American Soda loves…well…SODA…and we all know their customers LOVE soda.

    Heres my idea:
If AMERICAN SODA was a soda…what flavour would it be and WHY.

So in vein of the DEWmocracy idea people could come up with the most outrageous, inventive and fun idea for a new soda flavor for a brand new soda called ‘AMERICAN SODA’….and in 250-500 words why have you chosen that flavor and how do you think it represents american soda (the website, the company and the products they sell)

  2. ….the winner could recieve 5 cases of soda (a selection or their favorite flavor)

  3. Sam Bennett says:

How about some ‘Lucky Charms’ shapes hidden in different product listings? So for example you could have a horseshoe hidden within a completely unrelated product. And whoever finds all the ‘Lucky Charms’ wins some Lucky Charms?

Or something like that at least.

  4. Jamie Burke says:

How about the best idea for a new product?

  5. Kenny Maxwell says:

‘Tell me a joke and if it makes me laugh get [insert prize here]‘ Keeps it lighthearted and fun plus the best jokes can be circulated in the newsletter.

  6. Jordan McGhie says:

I think a “Who Am I?” competition would be good. Since its American Soda website i say use a famous american for the competition. All you would need to do is find some facts about the person you want to use publish them on your webpage and have answers emailed in. All correct answers go in a hat and winner picked at random.
There are pleanty of famous Americans to use from actors, musicians to presidents.

Hope this helps with an idea.

    Regards,
    Jordan

    Heres the idea:

where and how do you enjoy your american soda products?

print, draw, paint or create a version of the american soda logo and take a photo or short film of you enjoying your favourite american soda products in the various aspects of your life.
Customers submit the photos/videos and then the best are picked by dave!
winner is the most original/odd/inspiring media with the best unique placement of the product and logo!

Or Baby with a face covered in chocolate from a half eaten herseys bar and an american soda logo on his bib!

this idea works both ways, fun for the customers and product placement for dave!
for example: man climbing mountain with american soda logo on his backpack, reaching up for a bottle of gatorade on the top of the summit!

(sorry my first comment came out all messed up!)

  9. Daniel Palmer says:

    Empty soda can oragami?

  10. georgina beddoe says:

have a childrens poster comp, and the best from different age groups win american soda goodies! and the posters could be used in various ad compagains.

  11. Luke Day says:

Whoever makes the best famous American landmark out of food (bread/cookies/cake… be imaginitive!) then take a photo and have Dave judge it. Obviously there would need to be some rules to prevent cheating… The picture must contain a sign (americansoda.co.uk) so people don’t find some images off the net.

You could have multiple prizes for most inventive and best looking.

  12. Tim says:

How about a pic of one of your big shipping crates of soda or the warehouse, and we have to guess how many cans are in there?

First person to get it right wins every single can (just kidding – maybe a crate crate or 2, or a voucher to spend)

Or, we had a quiz at work the other day (people were bored), where there was part of a logo or packaging of different sweets, drinks, crisps etc. There were loads – some were really retro, some were stuff from overseas. It was good fun, so something like that could be good? Winner could get one of each pic in the quiz or something like that?

    Mountain Dew’s biggest fan
    Tim

  13. Guess how many jellybeans are in a huge container …
Re-name a popular product ie “mountain dew” to ……?
Come up with a new recipie using your fave american soad products.
Make a short story up,using as many american soda products as possible.
as for the prize vouchers to spend on all your goodies!!!

  14. Sarah Knight says:

How about a treasure hunt? You could place your cans of soda logo on various pages of the site, and people would have to find these logos and tell you which page they were on. Perhaps about 10 of them, of different sizes, hidden in different areas of the pages. It gets people working for their prize winnings! Prize could be a crate of soda of the winner’s choice, given that the logo is soda-related.

Or, how about answering this question – ‘If you were candy, what would you be?’ – whereby entrants would either create their own candy, or choose an existing one, and say why they chose it. Give a restriction on minimum length to ensure your entrants wrote ‘proper’ answers relating to how the candy reflected their personality or appearance.

  15. Laura Sage says:

its a very used idea but how about a photo competition? you put a product (any product) in an unusual spot and get us to guess where it is? the winner gets a chance to photograph a product in their home area to make it easier on Dave to get venues!! winner also gets a case of something? to photograph

  16. Roxy says:

How about seeing how many words of three letters or more can be found in the two words ‘AMERICAN SODA’ the one with the most ‘proper’ words wins.

  17. kevin jordan says:

i dont know if its been suggested yet but how about getting a can of mountain dew or something and “dressing” it up like a famous movie character, take a photo and post it in. For example draw some glasses on it, maybe a little hair with a lightning bolt near the top and you have Harry Potter :D

  18. Sarah Campbell says:

Maybe you could publish a page of bookmark size sections of parts of american soda products. For exmple a fragment of a lucky charms box, or a bit of a can of mountain dew and we have to guess what products they are from the small section of the box / can etc you have shown us.

  19. elizabeth watson says:

    Hi Dave
how about a trivia quiz! fun silly things like “what is a john hancock?” name all the presidents of america, you could make that one tricky by including those who were president before america became independent, or slang words or fun facts. we do a lot of trivia quizes at work and everyone loves them, also one we are doing now is name the chocolate bar, we give clues and and the guests try to work it out. like “feline first aid” is “Kit kat” “this will keep you in a spin” is a “twirl”, something like that is good because they can’t just go to a web site and find the answers. I think something everyone can do in their lunch break or late at night when their browsing would get more responses as it’s not to invloved. as for prizes I think a voucher would be good because not evryone wants soda or chocolate this would mean they could get what they wanted or try something new.
anyway good luck and hope you find this helpfull.

  20. stewart adam says:

I have no idea about a the details but the best prize i could hope for would be a trolly dash through your warehouse.

I 30 minute, grab as much as you like!!!

    Wow!!!!!!
